Reason 9: Preparation for Graduate School
NEXT STOP: AWESOME.
An Awesome Gateway To Grad School.
Because undergraduates at Utica College have the opportunity to do real research, work directly with full-time faculty, present at major conferences, and more, they are very well positioned to move on to graduate study and advanced research opportunities after graduation.
Our graduates have a great track record of acceptance into post-graduate institutions. For instance, in 2014, 80% all UC students who took the LSAT got accepted into law school. The next success story could be yours.
If you have plans for graduate study, you can take advantage of program options for preparatory study in:
- Pre-Medicine, including optometry, podiatry, osteopathy, and chiropractic
Amanda Marsh ’14

Heather McManus ’14
A graduate of the biochemistry program, Heather moved on to a position as a Summer Research Fellow at the nationally recognized Masonic Medical Research Laboratory in Utica.

TWELVE GREAT REASONS:
"A Great Fit" For Yale
Kathryn (Kate) Rosbrook ’14 originally came to Utica College to study physical therapy, then quickly developed an interest in experimental psychology. Partly on the basis of her research at UC, she was selected for a research assistantship at Yale School of Medicine’s John B. Pierce Laboratory. The lab director’s acceptance message described Kate as someone whose skills and abilities are a great fit to the position and to the laboratory.
“I wouldn’t be going to Yale if it wasn’t for Utica and my professors. UC has been more than just a college. You really feel like you’re a part of something bigger.”
